T.S. Ardent Cadet Success

AET Courtnee Shipman being presented the HMS Raleigh Captain's Prize by Rear Admiral Gardner CBE R.N.Former Able Cadet Courtnee Shipman, from T.S. Ardent, Bollington & Macclesfield Sea Cadets, recently passed out from H.M.S. Raleigh on completion of her Royal Navy Phase 1 Training. She was awarded the Captain’s Prize, for “The recruit who has put in an exceptional performance during Phase 1 Training”. This won’t surprise anyone who knew her as a cadet – her performance and turnout were always exemplary. The award was presented to her by Rear Admiral Gardner CBE R.N.Courtnee has now gone on to Phase 2 training, where she will train to become an Aircraft Engineering Technician (AET) on rotor bladed aircraft (that’s choppers to me and you!). She’s now based at H.M.S. Sultan in Portsmouth and loving every minute (well, most of them!).She follows on from last year’s success, where ex-cadet Dougie Downing passed out from Royal Marine training at Lympston and was awarded his coveted Green Beret. Dougie is currently on Nuclear Protection duty “somewhere in the UK”.

A great performance from two of the fantastic cadets at T.S. Ardent.
